Song 25 : Wesak Eve

Wesak Eve in SBS rocks! As usual the night started of with the offering of lights like every other year. After that the devotees are able to choose to go for either guided meditation or to watch a movie called Little Buddha.
However, I didnt really find the movie pretty interesting. Little Buddha is a movie about Buddha's life from his previous life as a goat until the day he got enlightened. Well it is kinda nice but which Buddhist doesn't know of Buddha's story? Lats year they had a documentary on Buddhism which was much more interesting, as they went deeper into Buddhism. However the little Buddha wasn't too bad too.Anyway, surprisingly, there were a lot of lalas coming here. And all of them were dressed wrongly for such an ocassion. I find it pretty annoying that they come all the way to the top of SBS and think that it's a fashion show featuring them. Lalamuis were going like "Yay, my hair is slithery silkier that yours and my layered dress is pom-pomier than yours!" wheras lalazhais were comparing the amount of decorations hanging down from their rainbow-inspired christmas tree pants. I wouldn't really blame them if they were to treat somewhere else as their imaginary runway, but here? In a monk monastery? No No NO!
Oh anyway, we transferred merits to the Nargis victims and the earthquake victims in China. May they be well and happy.

By the way, I guess the thing I enjoyed most that night was the fireworks. The opalescent display of light and sounds was so captivating that many couldn't help but to sigh and gasp in adoration! Who wouldn't? It was ad if the sky was adorned with millions of pieces of gems.

Oh i nearly forgot, the food "Monaed" there was great! from Yam cakes to curry puffs. Yum. But i didn't really like the noodles. Kinda bland. But who's complaining? It was prepared for us with a sincere heart, and that's all that matters (according to Lay Hoon la). So sadhu to those that spent their energy and time preparing them!And then. it was time to go home.

Hmm, this picture is kinda scary. But I like it! haha
